What if Revelation, the primary doomsday manual for “The end is near” prophets for 1900 years didn’t say that the end is near? What if, instead, it said that the end is far off and it told us what to do about that?
What if Revelation were instead an inspiring and uplifting exploration of the nature of God and the angelic possibilities of people? What if we could transform Revelation into a useful spiritual resource instead of a doomsday story?
I spent many years studying and trying to figure out the book of Revelation in the Bible. Gradually, I figured it all out and found that it doesn’t have anything at all to do with doomsday predictions. It isn’t a story of God “comin’ to gitcha.” Rather, it’s a God-is-love-not-wrath story of humans' spiritual evolution from almost primordial times through the founding of Christianity and on into the distant future, an epic story of vast reaches of time. There is plenty of the wrath of God there, to be sure, but it’s all in the earlier parts of the story, the earlier parts of the story of our evolution of spiritual consciousness.
It also isn’t a crazy, chaotic story either; it’s a perfectly organized story in which everything fits together, everything happens at exactly the right time, and it all makes sense. Even all the many Biblical allusions are perfectly placed and are meaningfully connected to the part of the story where they occur. I'm a technical writer in Silicon Valley. I used to be a software engineer, and most of my technical writing has been for very technical audiences such as software engineers and system administrators. I've done quite a bit of documentation for things such as APIs and SDKs.
Does the Federal Reserve play politics with the economy to influence presidential elections? I've discovered a pattern in the Fed's handling of interest rates that strongly suggests so. In every four-year presidential term (and equivalent presidential election cycle) since the Kennedy administration, they have followed this pattern. They behave in one of two diametrically opposite ways, depending on whether the incumbent president is a Democrat or a Republican. Read about it here. I haven't updated this paper for the 2004 and 2008 presidential elections, but I have verified that the same pattern held for those two election cycles. I haven’t checked it for the 2012 election.
